EDUC 556 Secondary Social Studies Methods (7-12) 3.0 Credits

Course provides understanding of effective Social Studies methods in secondary classrooms. History of pedagogical debates within Social Studies, is examined to incorporate effective Social Studies teaching methods. Careful attention is given to the Common Core Standards for Social Studies. This course has a Stage 3 field component, successful completion of the field component is required for recommendation for certification.
