NUPR 606 Safety Science: Reducing Risk and Harm 2.5 Credits

The purpose of this course is to provide graduate students with safety science expertise in accordance with DNP Essentials’ expectations as well as Graduate Quality Safety Education for Nurses’ competencies. Safety science is viewed as a critical component of high quality care. Healthy work environments are examined within the context of patient safety and work culture. Sources of patient safety science are explored and used to inform analyses and problem identification/solving activities.
