NUPR 801 Advanced Specialization Practicum 4.0 Credits

This course focuses on building the depth and/or breadth of Doctor of Nursing Practice students’ advanced nursing practice expertise. Students will construct an individualized plan for building advanced practice within a specialty that may be identified by population, problem typology, practice setting, type of care, or disease/specialty. Students will relate this advanced specialization focus to the DNP Project in some meaningful way. Practicum hours will address expertise and competence development within the specialty and skill/knowledge acquisition will be partially or fully demonstrated via the DNP Project. Course activities will encourage students’ skill set development in self-appraisal, project management, interprofessional collaboration and communication.
