Center for Hospitality and Sport Management

The Center for Hospitality and Sport Management includes undergraduate programs in culinary arts and science, culinary science, hospitality management and sport management.

Through supportive and connected faculty, co-op opportunities, the most relevant guest lecturers, and partnerships with key regional and national employers, our programs build an industry-relevant resume and a strong network before graduation.

The Department of Culinary Arts and Food Science is a unique department which marries the creativity and science of food. The programs combine the practical techniques of cooking with the technical areas of food science while exploring the history, culture, food systems and the business of food. Students are trained for careers in a variety of areas within the food industry including chef, research chef, restaurateur, product developer, quality assurance technician, food technologist and more.

The Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management’s undergraduate program is designed to prepare students for careers in restaurant operations, tourism, event planning, casino management and hotel administration. Students learn the fundamental principles of hospitality and of business management in the areas of customer service, human resources, law, marketing, operations and more.

The Department of Sport Management’s innovative undergraduate major is focused on the business of sport; the program offers coursework in analytics, economics, finance, digital media, facility and event management, law, sponsorships and ticket sales. The program is intended for students who plan to pursue careers in sport-oriented organizations such as professional sports teams, collegiate athletic departments, sport media networks, sport marketing firms, recreational sport organizations, and more.
