About the Program
The MS in Applied AI and Business Analytics prepares students to translate data into actionable business insights. Students develop the ability to manage and transform both structured and unstructured data, apply statistical and machine learning techniques, and interpret results to support decision-making. The program emphasizes framing business problems, developing success metrics, and selecting appropriate analytical approaches. Students learn how analytics and AI solutions are developed, deployed, and evaluated in practice, and the program places a focus on responsible analytics and AI—ensuring that graduates can build solutions that are effective, transparent, and defensible in real-world business contexts.
The curriculum is structured around the end-to-end analytics lifecycle. Courses are designed to build progressively, integrating statistical methods, machine learning, and AI approaches across both structured and unstructured data. Emphasis is placed on hands-on, applied learning with real-world problem solving, iterative development, and practical decision-making. Consistent with Drexel's focus on experiential education, the student experience culminates in a capstone experience.
Graduates of the MS in Applied AI and Business Analytics are prepared for roles such as Business Analyst, Data Analyst and Business Intelligence Analyst across a range of industries. By integrating business analytics with applied AI, graduates are equipped to work with emerging tools and approaches that extend traditional analytics capabilities.
The curriculum is aligned with current industry needs and supports students in pursuing relevant professional certifications such as forecasting credentials, version control and portfolio development through GitHub, and applied AI and MLOps training. For students interested in further academic study, the program provides a strong foundation in statistical and analytical methods, preparing graduates for advanced research or doctoral programs.
The curriculum for the MS in Applied AI and Business Analytics at Drexel LeBow offers an approach that prioritizes students’ proficiency with analytical and AI tools. Students first build a strong technical foundation, then apply analytics and AI in practical and strategic contexts. With greater confidence in these tools, students are better prepared for courses that enhance their strategic thinking and readiness for leadership roles. This structure also facilitates a focus on more interactive class methods, such as case discussions, guest lectures, and team-based projects, which are significantly more effective when students understand both the capabilities and limitations of analytics and AI tools. Finally, the design of the curriculum increases students’ ability to perform successfully in technical assessments and applied problem-solving tasks in the job market.
