About the Program

The Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Learning Analytics prepares educators, trainers, and organizational leaders to translate contemporary learning analytics research, and the pedagogies it informs, into actionable practices for a variety of educational settings. The program is designed to increase education practitioners' use of data (defined broadly) to catalyze positive change in educational systems.

Students develop advanced skills in measurement, analysis, and predictive modeling through project-based learning modules that challenge them to reason with a variety of data. Students also examine complex ethical considerations when using technologies that generate various data in learning environments.

Graduates are empowered to leverage data analytics to drive high-impact decision-making within educational contexts using a broad range of methods for data collection, analysis, and visualization. In this way, educators, instructional designers, researchers, and administrators gain new tools for studying teaching and learning and making important decisions.

Courses in this certificate employ Drexel’s experiential learning model by regularly asking students to reflect on deploying their developing knowledge of data analytics and learning sciences in workplace and school settings while developing understanding of the larger systems at hand.
