About the Program
The Post-Baccalaureate Certificate (PBC) in Organization and Talent Development prepares emerging and mid-career professionals to design and lead learning, talent, and organizational development initiatives across corporate, nonprofit, higher education, healthcare, and public-sector settings. Students examine key concepts in adult learning theory, workforce development, performance improvement, and organizational change. The curriculum develops competencies in strategic talent development, coaching and mentoring, workforce analytics, and the design and evaluation of workplace learning systems. Learners strengthen skills in aligning training and development initiatives with organizational performance goals, talent retention strategies, and succession planning. The program also emphasizes ethical leadership, collaborative problem solving, and the ability to cultivate inclusive organizational cultures that support continuous learning and professional growth.
Learning occurs through applied, problem-based experiences grounded in authentic organizational challenges. Courses include case analyses, consulting-style projects, and the design of workplace learning and talent development interventions that address measurable performance outcomes. Coursework integrates the theoretical foundations of human resource development with practical leadership strategies used in contemporary organizations. Through activities such as designing mentoring systems, facilitating leadership development initiatives, and developing data-informed training programs, students gain hands-on experience translating theory into practice. These signature learning experiences strengthen competencies in organizational consulting, strategic planning, and change management while preparing students to lead learning initiatives that support workforce effectiveness.
Graduates are prepared to advance into roles focused on organizational learning, talent development, and workforce strategy. Career pathways include positions such as Learning and Development Manager, Organizational Development Specialist, HR Business Partner, Talent Development Consultant, Corporate Training Director, Workforce Development Analyst, and Employee Engagement Specialist. The certificate also provides a strong foundation for continued graduate study in human resource development, organizational leadership, or workforce development fields. By strengthening competencies in program design, evaluation, and strategic workforce planning, graduates are equipped to contribute to talent development and organizational performance across diverse professional sectors.
