About the Program
Students in the Master of Science in Engineering Management will gain understanding of management principles, acquire leadership skills as applied to technology-based organizations as well as:
- Lead complex engineering and capital-intensive organizations with globally dispersed organizational structures.
- Solve industry-related problems by applying their knowledge of business, mathematics, science and engineering.
- Develop leadership skills that can be applied effectively in technology-based organizations.
- Interpret quantitative and subjective data to make sound engineering and managerial decisions.
- Apply data analytics and decision tools to solve complex technical and operational problems to meet both business and customer needs.
- Develop and lead effective teams and projects.
- Communicate effectively across the entire enterprise.
- Understand the ethical responsibilities of practicing engineering leaders and the impact of their decisions within a global and societal context.

A master’s degree in engineering management will augment to any engineering or STEM bachelor’s degree by providing organizational structure knowledge and leadership skills to manage complex projects and teams. It is designed for individuals who aspire to pursue management roles within technology- based organizations.
Graduates of the MS program pursue career roles in engineering management, project management, plant and operations management, technical director, product management, construction management as well as any leadership role. The curriculum prepares students to manage across a broad domain of industries such as aerospace and defense, manufacturing and automotive, energy, and healthcare to name a few.

- The strength of our program is our faculty as all our instructors have extensive experience in industry. The experience of our faculty ranges from first level managers to vice presidents and include program managers, directors, site managers, functional managers, from a wide range of industries.
- In addition to an experienced faculty, we have a strong Advisory Board that consist of Experienced personnel in industry that are functioning in high level positions. Through this advisory board, there is a strong connection to industry. As such, the program undergoes continual upgrade and redevelopment to stay current with industry needs for today and in the future.
- Drexel’s MS in Engineering Management is certified by the American Society for Engineering Managers (ASEM). Students that complete the program will also earn either a Certified associate in engineering management (CAEM) or a Certified Professional Engineering Management (CPEM) Certificate from the ASEM society, in addition to their MS degree from Drexel.

Admission Requirements
Admission to this program requires:
- A four-year bachelor of science degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited institution in the United States or an equivalent international institution. Bachelor's degrees in math or the physical sciences may also be considered for admission.
- Minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.0. If any other graduate work has been completed, the average GPA must be at least 3.0.
- Complete graduate school application.
- Official transcripts from all universities or colleges and other post-secondary educational institutions (including trade schools) attended.
- Two letters of recommendation, professional or academic (at least one professional).
- Resume
- A personal statement explaining why you wish to earn the degree and why you are prepared to succeed.
- International students must submit an Internet-based TOEFL (IBT = score of 94 or higher).
- At least three years of relevant professional work experience are recommended but not required.
