About the Program

Drexel University Dornsife School of Public Health’s online Graduate Certificate in Urban Health is designed to provide students with an introduction to urban health practice techniques that build foundational knowledge in the field. With a curriculum that puts an emphasis on health impacts of urban policies, as well as built, natural and social environments, students will learn how to become a culturally competent urban public health professional and apply that knowledge to real-world problems.

The certificate is offered entirely online to provide qualified students and working professionals with an opportunity to participate in this program regardless of restrictions in time and physical location. Those who successfully complete the certificate program and wish to broaden their scope of public health education could pursue an MPH or MS degree and apply some or all credits to that program.

For internal applicants: Graduate certificates are designed to provide specific depth within a student’s area of training or complement their training in a related discipline. All matriculated master's students in semester programs, except for students pursuing the MPH in Urban Health, are eligible to enroll.

Students must receive approval from their home program and the Dornsife School of Public Health and complete the necessary paperwork with the DSPH Academic Advising Team.
