Minor in Creative Writing
About the Minor
Creative writing can be an outlet for those who want to exercise their creativity, read and respond to writing in community with others, and reflect on their experiences in imaginative ways. The Creative Writing minor offers students the opportunity to work closely with peers and faculty in small writing classes to develop both craft and creativity. Students explore and practice writing in multiple genres while building a portfolio of original work.
Admissions Requirements
Students are required to declare a major before declaring a minor. Students admitted directly into a specific major at the time of matriculation may declare a minor beginning in their second semester. All requirements for the minor must be completed either concurrently with or prior to the completion of the primary major requirements. This ensures that students fulfill the expectations of their primary field of study while completing any additional areas of academic specialization.
