Minor in Middle East and North Africa Studies
About the Minor
This minor offers an interdisciplinary look at the Middle East and North Africa region, which holds a critically important geopolitical position in terms of not only security and energy, but also in terms of political, religious, cultural, and gender studies. Together with content courses in English offered through a variety of departments, this minor also includes 6 credits of Arabic language instruction.
Admissions Requirements
Students are required to declare a major before declaring a minor. Students admitted directly into a specific major at the time of matriculation may declare a minor beginning in their second semester. All requirements for the minor must be completed either concurrently with or prior to the completion of the primary major requirements. This ensures that students fulfill the expectations of their primary field of study while completing any additional areas of academic specialization.
