Minor in War and Society
About the Minor
This minor concentrates on military and related institutions, the history of war, forms of violence in war, and conflict in international relations. This minor may not be taken in combination with the Minor in History. History majors may only count one HIST (or cross-listed) course towards this minor. For all other majors, at least 6 of the credits must be HIST courses. Politics majors may only count one POLS course towards the minor.
Admissions Requirements
Students are required to declare a major before declaring a minor. Students admitted directly into a specific major at the time of matriculation may declare a minor beginning in their second semester. All requirements for the minor must be completed either concurrently with or prior to the completion of the primary major requirements. This ensures that students fulfill the expectations of their primary field of study while completing any additional areas of academic specialization.
