Students in the Management Information Systems (MIS) major develop mastery of how information systems enable business operations and support complex decision-making. Key competencies include designing and implementing databases, architecting enterprise cloud infrastructures, and deploying AI-driven automation solutions. Beyond technical proficiency, students cultivate a sophisticated understanding of systems analysis through Agile, Lean, and DevOps methodologies. The program emphasizes critical attitudes and values, such as ethical AI deployment, bias mitigation, and the rigorous governance required to maintain the confidentiality and integrity of organizational data.
The MIS learning experience is grounded in a hands-on philosophy. Students engage in intensive lab exercises, user interface design projects, and real-world simulations rather than studying theory in isolation.
