Minor in Environmental Engineering

About the Minor

The Environmental Engineering minor, designed to broaden the professional capabilities of engineering students, addresses on the fundamentals of environmental engineering. For example, chemical and mechanical engineers working in process and manufacturing plants will be provided with a better understanding of the natural context of their facilities, better equipped to perform fate and risk analyses, and better able to apply the appropriate technology to control air and water discharges. While this minor is designed to provide technical knowledge and skills to other engineers, with the appropriate prerequisites students from disciplines other than engineering can also complete this minor.

Admissions Requirements

Students are required to declare a major before declaring a minor. Students admitted directly into a specific major at the time of matriculation may declare a minor beginning in their second semester. All requirements for the minor must be completed either concurrently with or prior to the completion of the primary major requirements. This ensures that students fulfill the expectations of their primary field of study while completing any additional areas of academic specialization.
