Minor in Dance
About the Minor
The minor in dance offers students the opportunity to explore dance as a technical, creative, and cultural practice through a balance of studio and classroom experiences. Technique courses engage a range of dance forms, while creative process and foundation courses develop skills in composition, collaboration, and critical inquiry. Electives allow students to pursue interests in performance, pedagogy, wellness, or community-based practice.
Admission Requirements
No audition required for admission to minor.
Students are required to declare a major before declaring a minor. Students admitted directly into a specific major at the time of matriculation may declare a minor beginning in their second semester. All requirements for the minor must be completed either concurrently with or prior to the completion of the primary major requirements. This ensures that students fulfill the expectations of their primary field of study while completing any additional areas of academic specialization.
