Graduate Minor in Environmental Epidemiology

About the Graduate Minor

Graduate students in this minor will develop knowledge and skills to prepare them for work in environmental and occupational epidemiology. Training includes critical evaluation of relevant scientific literature, formulating hypotheses and designing studies to answer questions about environmental and workplace exposure impacts on human heath, planning and conducting data analyses, and reporting findings.

Admission Requirements

This graduate minor is designed to provide specific depth within a student’s area of training or complement their training in a related discipline. All matriculated graduate students in quarter programs, except for students pursuing the PhD in Environmental and Occupational Health, are eligible to enroll, provided they meet the prerequisite requirements.

To qualify for this graduate minor, students should have completed EPI 570 Introduction to Epidemiology, BST 571 Introduction to Biostatistics, and EPI 564/EPI 864 Data Science Using R or BST 555 Introduction to Statistical Computing, with grades of C or better in these courses.

Students must receive approval from their home program and the Dornsife School of Public Health and complete the necessary paperwork with the DSPH Academic Advising Team.
