ARCH 1001 Appreciation of Architecture 3.0 Credits
This introductory architecture course helps students develop skills essential for observing and understanding architecture and built environments as socio-cultural, technological, and artistic products. It explores broadly applicable topics including architectural style, material, construction, and function, using buildings (prehistoric through contemporary) drawn from around the globe and from Philadelphia. The lecture course is intended for non-majors and may include written tests, short essays, and local site tours.
