ARCH 2101 Architecture Studio I 4.0 Credits
This course begins the core architecture studio sequence. It builds design process skills and knowledge through iterative investigations. These stipulate that meaning emerges through the constant dialogue between a maker and their work. Emphasis is placed upon analog inquiry methods and representational techniques to establish the architectural design practices as reflective, poetic, and human-centered. Initial projects introduce problem finding strategies, organizational principals, and conceptual frameworks. Later projects test and integrate these premises through explorations in open-ended design problems engaging program, inhabitation, form=making, materials, and context.
