ARCH 2401 Architectural History I 3.0 Credits
This survey course aims to foster an historically informed understanding of global built environments by examining the history of architecture and urbanism from the prehistoric era through the European Renaissance (ca. 1500). In studying selected works, attention is paid to structures' appearance, building materials, construction, interiors, and functions, and their relationships to various socio-cultural, political, and economical factors. This lecture class may include written exams and short essay assignments.
