ARCH 3415 History of American Architecture 3.0 Credits
This lecture course explores the history and development of architecture and urban planning in the United States from the colonial period (the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries) through today, in its large cities, smaller rural settlements, and spaces in between. Themes may include urbanization, industrialization, suburbanization, and the roles played by technology, government, and broader cultural movements in the design and construction of American built environments. This class may include both written exams and research essays.
