ARCH 3430 History of Urban Space 3.0 Credits
This course introduces students to major episodes in the history of urban space during the modern era through a series of both primary and secondary written texts. Influential schools of thought, design practices, and socio-economic critiques will be explored within the contexts of industrialization and globalization. While its focus will be on Western cities, the course explores sites beyond the US and Europe on several occasions.
