ARCH 3602 Building Systems II 3.0 Credits
This course integrates active environmental systems with architectural intent. Topics include HVAC system types and distribution, psychrometrics for system selection, controls and energy management, fire protection and life-safety interfaces, lighting design and visual comfort, acoustics and noise control, domestic hot water, electrical and signal systems, and on-site renewables. Students apply energy and comfort analysis to compare alternatives, coordinate systems with enclosure and structure, and evaluate code, efficiency, maintainability, and life-cycle implications. Emphasis is on system sizing logic, distribution pathways, and control strategies that deliver measurable performance outcomes.
Repeat Status: Not repeatable for credit
Prerequisites: ARCH 3601 [Min Grade: C]
