ARCH 3625 Healthy Building Design 3.0 Credits
This course explores design strategies that promote occupant health and well-being using the WELL framework. Students study indoor air quality, water quality, lighting for visual comfort and circadian support, thermal comfort, acoustics, material health, opportunities for movement, nourishment, and inclusive, community-minded design. The course connects building form, envelope, systems, and operations to measurable outcomes for people. Learning formats include brief lectures, readings, case studies, and field observations. Expected work includes assessments, diagrams, performance sketches, small design exercises, and short reports.
