AUD 8005 Pediatric Assessment and Rehabilitation 5.0 Credits
This course will focus on issues related to pediatric hearing assessment and intervention through lecture, case studies, and instructor led hands on practice in the lab. Topics addressed include genetic causes of hearing loss, syndromes/disorders related to childhood hearing loss, medical and surgical considerations of childhood hearing loss, Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) programs, pediatric hearing screenings, early development of auditory skills, impact on speech and language development, psycho-social development.
