BMES 4711 Neuroengineering: Cells and Signals 3.0 Credits
This course examines the cellular and molecular foundations of neural signaling. Through problem-based learning, data analysis, and quantitative modeling, students will investigate membrane biophysics, ion channel dynamics, synaptic transmission, intracellular signaling pathways, and neuroglial interactions under normal and pathological conditions. Students will be introduced to emerging neuroengineering strategies to restore function following injury or disease.
Repeat Status: Not repeatable for credit
Prerequisites: BMES 1610 [Min Grade: D] and BMES 2210 [Min Grade: D]
