BST 5000 Introduction to Biostatistics 3.0 Credits
This course introduces and applies the biostatistical and analytical foundations required for public health research and practice. Emphasis is placed on applying statistical thinking to real-world data, with hands-on experience in analysis and interpretation to support public health studies and programs. Students will develop an understanding of key biostatistical concepts and methods, including data presentation and visualization, statistical inference, parametric and nonparametric methods for comparing groups, regression modeling, and survival analysis.
