CATX 6645 Professional Identity for Art Therapists and Artists 2.0 Credits

This course focuses on the development of professional identity through the integration of personal values, lived experiences, ethical practice, and an evolving clinical worldview. Students examine identity formation through both individual and collective lenses while exploring professional ethics, state licensure, specialty credentialing, and contemporary career pathways. The course emphasizes ongoing professional development through supervision, professional affiliation, advocacy, and creative growth, and engages students in reflective use of their own artmaking processes to explore identity as both artists and art therapists.
