CHEM 2423 Majors Organic Lab II 2.0 Credits

The principles of IR, MS, 1-H and 13-C NMR will be put to use in identifying products in the lab. Other lab topics include the preparation of alcohols, a Grignard synthesis, an alkene addition reaction, an aromatic nitration, a Friedel-Crafts reaction, the preparation of ferrocene, and how to safely handle water-sensitive chemicals.
