CHEM 5710 Biochemistry I 3.0 Credits
This course will cover the basic biochemistry of biomolecules in living systems, including the structures and functions of proteins, enzymes, carbohydrates, and lipids. After covering basic biochemistry, the course will cover the chemical reactions and mechanisms in the metabolic pathways of carbohydrates, fatty acids, and amino acids for energy generation and use. The course will also focus on catalytic and regulatory mechanisms of enzymes in metabolic reactions with relevance to physiology.
Repeat Status: Not repeatable for credit
