CHP 5004 Program Evaluation: From Process to Impact 3.0 Credits
This course provides students with an opportunity to review and apply principles of monitoring and evaluation to contemporary public health problems, policies, and programs. The first part of this course covers the conceptual and methodological challenges of establishing a need for a health intervention, documenting program processes, and developing measurable outcomes. The second part explores the challenges of evaluation design, data collection, analysis, interpretation, and writing. Much of public health is about developing programs and policies to impact individual and population health. Therefore, public health practitioners must be able to measure the impact on health of these initiatives. This course equips students to make confident, evidence-based statements about program and policy performance.
