CHP 5010 Overview of Issues in Global Health 3.0 Credits
This introductory course will analyze contemporary issues in global health through an interdisciplinary lens, exploring the roles of history, power, culture and inequalities in shaping patterns of morbidity and mortality. The goal of the course is to provide students with an overview of concepts such as the measurement of health status, global burden of disease, and social, economic, political, environmental and individual determinants that affect global population health. It will use interactive methods to analyze the complexities of responding to key global health challenges.
