CHP 503 Mixed Methods in Community Health and Prevention 3.0 Credits
Students will utilize mixed-methods research to explore how individual, social, and structural factors influence community health. Emphasizing practical, hands-on learning, this applied course engages students in analyzing real-world data sets and practicing qualitative data collection through mock studies. Students will enhance their qualitative and quantitative research skills to address conceptually driven questions in behavioral and social sciences. Students will learn to effectively organize, interpret, and present data tailored to diverse audiences, such as policymakers, practitioners, and community leaders. Students will be prepared to design and execute mixed-methods studies, critically evaluate data, and translate findings to advance health equity and support community health and prevention efforts.
