CHP 8010 Research Methods I: Inquiry, Research Design, and Data Collection 3.0 Credits
This course introduces scientific inquiry, theory, and research designs across quantitative, qualitative, mixed methods, and policy research traditions. Students learn to formulate theory-driven research questions, build hypotheses, and operationalize concepts. Emphasis is placed on rigorous, anti-racist, and anti-oppressive approaches. Foundational skills in study design, sampling, measurement, and data collection prepare students to design etiologic, intervention, or policy focused studies.
