CIVE 6130 Seepage and Consolidation 3.0 Credits
The course covers permeability of soils, seepage and drainage, seepage analysis of geotechnical problem such as dams, sheet piles, excavations. Classical one-dimensional consolidation theories, the analysis and interpretation of laboratory and field tests, and extended consolidation theories (e.g., 3D consolidation, nonlinear finite strain) are also discussed. The course also covers numerical methods applied to seepage and consolidation geotechnical problems.
