CS 4550 Modern AI Application Development 3.0 Credits
This course is a comprehensive examination of the tools and methodologies used to create applications based on large scale foundational models. The course moves beyond basic usage to explore the technical architecture of AI-driven software. Topics include adapting models for specific domains through fine-tuning; systematic approaches to prompt design; and the development of agent-based systems that perform multi-step reasoning. Students also examine operational best practices (LLMOps), methods for connecting models to external datasets, and frameworks for ensuring responsible and ethical AI behavior in production environments.
