CS 6530 Natural Language Processing 3.0 Credits
This course introduces natural language processing (NLP) from the lenses of high-impact applications, including machine translation, question answering, information retrieval, dialogue systems, and machine reasoning. A spectrum of methodologies, from historical, statistical, rule-based models to modern, data-driven, large language models (LLMs) will be discussed. Students will not only learn to apply state-of-the-art techniques to real-world tasks, but also appreciate the fundamental methodologies that have driven the technology in NLP and AI.
