CTCN 509 Social and Cultural Foundations 4.5 Credits
This course explores critical multicultural theories to support social and cultural dimensions of counseling processes. Students will develop awareness and knowledge of power, privilege and oppression across social locations and the ways personal and interpersonal behaviors relate to micro and macro systems. Culturally responsive practices and anti-oppressive intervention strategies will be cultivated to identify and eliminate cultural barriers, prejudice, and discriminatory practices.
