CTCN 513 Orientation to Counseling Theories, Helping Relationships, and Supervision 2.0 Credits
This course introduces core counseling skills and practices to prepare for beginning therapeutic practice at clinical and community sites. Through engagement with contemporary clinical literature, group discussions, and practical lab experiences, students will cultivate essential counseling techniques. Students will learn the essential functions of supervision, observational and attending skills, case conceptualization, treatment planning, assessment, and clinical documentation. Learning will be intentionally attentive to developing culturally responsive, ethical, collaborative, and productive therapeutic relationships.
