CTCN 5512 Clinical Practicum I and Orientation to Helping Relationships 2.0 Credits
This course is a supervised clinical experience in music therapy and counseling, in which the student progresses from observing to co-leading and leading group and individual sessions under the guidance of an on-site music therapist. A weekly on-campus group supervision supports the integration of clinical experience and coursework as related to music therapy and counseling clinical practice and research. Students are also introduced to and will cultivate core counseling skills through engagement with contemporary clinical literature, practical lab experience and role plays. The student is assigned by the Clinical Education Coordinator and the Program Director to a clinical field experience.
