CTCN 5523 Clinical Practicum and Group Supervision I 3.0 Credits
This course integrates supervised clinical practicum with small-group art therapy supervision. Students present and discuss client and site-specific clinical material while developing observational, attending, and reflective skills across the lifespan. Emphasis is placed on integrating theory and practice; culturally responsive, collaborative therapeutic relationships; and supervision-informed learning. Through reflection on clinical experiences, students deepen awareness of self in therapeutic relationships and strengthen professional dispositions as art therapists and counselors. The course supports skill development in ethical problem solving, group dynamics awareness, intercultural communication, and cultural humility, and fulfills professional association and licensure requirements for clinical training.
