DLE 5001 Managing the Firm: Core Business Functions 1.5 Credit

This course serves as the gateway to the MBA program, immersing students in the fundamentals of business through a dynamic, simulation-based learning environment using a business simulation platform. Students work in teams to develop a team charter and formulate a working understanding of core business functions—including marketing, finance, operations, and strategy—and how these functions interrelate within a competitive marketplace. Through iterative decision-making, team collaboration, and performance analysis, students gain hands-on experience managing a firm. The course emphasizes systems thinking, data-driven decision-making, and the development of foundational business acumen required for success in subsequent MBA coursework.
