DSGN 6069 Biodesign Lab 3.0 Credits
This course introduces students to the practice of biodesign and guides them towards a completed biodesign project. Through hands-on prompted experimentation, selected readings, in-class discussion, instructive editing, and group critique, students will explore biodesign, biological processes, speculative biodesign, and design systems. Students will produce several small-scale experiments and create a larger deliverable based on opportunities discovered during the prototyping phase. To produce this work, students will engage with subject matter experts, communities of practice, and a wide range of problem definition tools and methods. Professionally juried, may include participation in the National Biodesign Challenge. May include outreach to external science partners and labs.
Repeat Status: Not repeatable for credit
