EAM 3103 Producing and Touring 3.0 Credits
This course is experience-based and designed to familiarize students with all aspects of producing live one-off events and running performances as well as two basic types of touring: music concert tours and performing arts tours. The course provides an overview of the issues routinely encountered by producers of live and touring events, both commercial and non-profit and emphasizes executive decision-making. Producing skills developed include working creatively with and booking artists; understanding project staffing, scheduling, and planning; budgeting and revenue management (including fundraising); managing unions, venues, and contracting; marketing and event promotion; safety, technical, and logistical issues; and successful execution and reporting.
