ECE 4703 Applied Robotics Lab 3.0 Credits
Students will learn the fundamental concepts and practical skills required to design, program, and deploy autonomous robotic systems through hands-on laboratory experience. The course focuses on mobile robots equipped with onboard sensing and computing platforms, including lidar and vision sensors. Core topics include the Robot Operating System (ROS), robot kinematics and motion control, sensor integration, state estimation, obstacle avoidance, mapping, and autonomous navigation. Students will develop and test algorithms in both simulation and physical hardware environments, gaining experience with widely used robotic software tools. The course culminates in team-based projects in which students demonstrate integrated robotic systems through tasks such as autonomous navigation and robot racing.
Repeat Status: Not repeatable for credit
