ECE 4708 Decision Making for Robotics 3.0 Credits
This course focuses on advanced decision-making algorithms for autonomous robotic systems, emphasizing planning, learning, and reasoning under uncertainty. Topics include information-theoretic planning, state estimation and filtering, risk-aware and chance-constrained optimization, adversarial search methods, reinforcement learning, and modern foundation models for robotics such as transformer-based architectures, large language models, vision-language models, and vision-language-action models. Lectures are centered on foundational and recent research papers, with students actively leading discussions and paper presentations. Students will develop the skills needed to critically evaluate robotics research, identify open problems, and initiate progress toward publishable work.
Repeat Status: Not repeatable for credit
Prerequisites: (ECE 3700 [Min Grade: D] or ECE 361 [Min Grade: D]) and (ECE 3701 [Min Grade: D] or ECES 301 [Min Grade: D])
