ECE 6551 Power Electronics 3.0 Credits

This course introduces power electronic converters and their applications in electric power systems. Topics include AC–DC and DC–AC converters, diode and phase-controlled rectifiers and inverters, DC–DC switch-mode converters, and utility interface design. Emphasis is placed on practical implementation through hardware- and software-based laboratory work and applications in residential, industrial, and utility systems.
