ECON 3324 Economics of Happiness 3.0 Credits

This course discusses application of survey studies of subjective well-being or “happiness” to economics and public policy, with some of the philosophic issues that arise. Using standard techniques of economics and survey data, This course may investigate the impact of money income, unemployment, marriage and other conditions on self-reported well-being, and investigate the money equivalent of pollution and terrorism. As a required course, it supports progression in the program. Students will learn to apply key concepts, analyze real-world situations, and communicate evidence-based recommendations.
