ECON 6601 Managerial Economics 3.0 Credits

Managerial economics is a branch of applied microeconomics. It focuses on the decisions that managers frequently face and the economic tools used to analyze these situations. Major topics in this course include profit maximization, strategic interaction, basic game theory, economics of information, and pricing strategies for firms with market power. This course has two main objectives. The first is for every student to master basic microeconomic tools. The second is to enhance the student's ability to recognize and properly analyze the economic aspects of business situations. Developing the ability to view business from an economic perspective and having solid economic intuition will students make better business decisions.
