The emergence of a globalized and interconnected economy means that adverse macroeconomic events can greatly impact a firm’s performance. To effectively respond to these risks and opportunities, business leaders need to have a sound understanding of the key economic and institutional factors that affect their firm’s environment. Drawing from economic theory and utilizing a case-based learning approach, students will study macroeconomic events and policies and their implications for society and business decisions. The experience gained from analyzing these phenomena with a coherent framework will provide managers with a competitive advantage.
