EDCR 510 Leadership in Educational Contexts and Systems 3.0 Credits

This course provides students with a foundational understanding of the nature and practice of leadership in the context of systems and change. Course content addresses various theories of leadership and the role of followership in relation to different situations and contexts. Leadership is critically examined through the lens of diversity, inclusion, equity, social justice, power and politics, and ethics. This course will help students gain self-awareness and a reflective understanding of their preferred leadership style and how it enables or inhibits effective leadership practice in terms of leading people, organizations and institutions, and change.
